Since 2021, when Nintendo originally shared that it was in the works, fans of the original Dragon Quest III NES game have been anticipating the updated, high-definition modern version of the game. Some minor gameplay was shared in 2021, but it wasn’t enough to go on when it came to finding out if the new version is as good as its classic counterpart. Gamers online were thrilled when they found out that they’ll be able to play Dragon Quest III HD-2D this year.

Before the current PAW Patrol Crocs

There have been a few different styles of PAW Patrol kids’ Crocs over the last couple of years. These include a variety of large character portraits of the six pups in our crew: Chase, Rocky, Rubble, Skye, Marshall, and Zuma. The former gray and pink toddler Croc styles are still popular but can only be found secondhand or from vendors who bought inventory when Crocs still carried these versions. Good reviews abound on Amazon, where users say that kids love the Crocs and they are true to size. But Crocs wasn’t satisfied with the design, so they recently released a brand new PAW Patrol style!

From rescuing wild animals to solving municipal problems to arriving at the mayor’s behest, the six PAW Patrol pups are ready to help anyone in Adventure Bay solve a problem. Toddlers love PAW Patrol for a lot of reasons. It’s repetitive, so there are lots of short songs and repeated phrases that children can learn, in a way they can sing along to their favorite parts. (Parents, you may not love the repetition, but we all know the kids love it.) The storylines are low stakes, and the dogs are always helped by their young human friend Ryder. No one is ever in any real danger or gets hurt. From an adult perspective, sometimes the show is even cute!

A legendary Mario game gets a refresh

In 1999, I was a middle school kid who was as hungry for The Phantom Menace to come out as everyone else. After I had worshipped the original trilogy for years as a child and carried my Princess Leia action figure everywhere, it felt extraordinary to receive the gift of new Star Wars movie that May.

Vecna: Eve of Ruin promises a powerful and exciting campaign that crosses a half-dozen different universes to gather the right weapons necessary to defeat Vecna, the evil lich. Vecna’s ultimate goal is to reset the multiverse by destroying everything in existence and starting from scratch so he can be the totalitarian dictator of his dreams. This bad guy has been around in the D&D multiverse since the 2e editions from the 1980s and has appeared in multiple editions. He is not to be messed with, and he has yet to be defeated.

People in the Netherlands, Italy, Mexico, the United States, Britain, New Zealand, China, and even more countries stepped out into the night to see the aurora borealis with eye and camera from May 8–10, 2024. Thousands of images appeared all over social media, from X (formerly Twitter) to Instagram, just taken in people’s backyards or from their porch. Timelapse images seemed to work the best, to allow smartphone cameras to capture the subtlety of the lights in places where the naked eye can’t see the northern lights.
