Per TV Line, ABC has officially canceled Not Dead Yet after two seasons. The last episode of season 2, which aired on April 24, has become the series finale. The rebooted Apes franchise began with 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which introduced us to Caesar, the chimpanzee protagonist played by Andy Serkis. In Rise, Caesar inherits extraordinary cognitive abilities from his mother, a chimpanzee used as a test subject for a new drug to combat Alzheimer’s. When he matures, Caesar exposes other apes to the drug, triggering a cognitive evolution of the species. Meanwhile, the drug’s exposure to humans results in an deadly global pandemic that wipes out much of population, leading to a battle between man and apes that continues to play out in 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.

A sequel to I Am Legend has been in various stages of development at Warner Bros. since 2008, but the studio made it official in 2022, confirming the return of Will Smith as Dr. Robert Neville, one of the few survivors of a global plague that turned humans into “darkseekers”—vampire-like mutants that live in the dark and avoid sunlight. I Am Legend screenwriter Akiva Goldsman is returning to script the sequel, which rejects the theatrical ending of the 2007 film. In that version, Neville sacrifices himself to protect the cure he’s spent years developing. But the alternate ending is more faithful to the Richard Matheson novel on which it’s based: Neville decides to stop pursuing a cure and instead focus on finding other survivors and learning how to co-exist with the darkseekers.

Jones has been accused of playing a large part in hyping up the treasonous acts of January 6. Courts in both Texas and Connecticut found Jones liable for damages after he spent the better part of a decade lying about the Sandy Hook tragedy and making the lives of the victims’ families even harder. The court ordered him to pay over a billion dollars to the families in damages. Even though Jones filed for bankruptcy, he still had to pay his debt. In a move that may or not be connected to his financial woes, Jones released an online video game that is just as awful as you would imagine.

As clunkily suggested by the title, Snyder’s new film is the first in a planned franchise comprised of two-part films, with Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver set for release on April 19, 2024. Based on reviews of Part One, the title is far from the worst thing about Snyder’s film, which he originally pitched to Lucasfilm as a more “mature” Star Wars sequel inspired by the films of Akira Kurosawa.
