The sequel to Pixar’s incredible 2015 film, Inside Out, Inside Out 2 has audiences flocking to the cinema to see how Joy and the gang handle Riley becoming a teenager. Inside Out 2 continues where its predecessor left off, looking at the inner workings of Riley’s mind. In the first film, Riley is a child trying to overcome a huge shift in her life, a shift that leaves her feeling like she has no control over the future. It taught us that sometimes, sadness is a necessary emotion that we need to allow ourselves to feel. The first film was widely praised by critics, audiences, and therapists around the world, so when a sequel was announced, we were ready to jump in.

When The Flash premiered in 2023, there was much excitement for its cameos, as its multiversal premise opened the door for countless former DC actors to make an appearance. Viewers were anticipating surprise cameos from the likes of Grant Gustin, John Wesley Shipp, Brand Routh, or Helen Slater. Instead, the production made an exceedingly odd and controversial choice, choosing to utilize CGI for the majority of its cameos. They added such heavy CGI editing to Nicolas Cage’s cameo that it didn’t even slightly resemble the original scene he filmed. On top of that, they recreated the likeness of several deceased actors, including Christopher Reeve, using CGI.

While not the most original concept in 2024 (being the third movie about imaginary friends this year), what makes The Imaginary stand out is its message about growing up. It is a visually stunning ride as Rudger (Louie Rudge-Buchanan) tries to save his friend Amanda (Evie Kiszel), but the darkness comes from Mr. Bunting (Jeremy Swift) using his imaginary friend to hurt others. Mr. Bunting is an adult who never wanted to give up his childhood friend, and while Amanda created Rudger out of the grief of losing her father, Mr. Bunting represents what happens when you refuse to grow up.

There’s no word yet on who he’d be playing or what kind of role he will have in the film, but it is making me emotional anyway. I am someone who loves the Christopher Reeve movies very dearly. Across four seasons, Demon Slayer has garnered critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase. The show has been praised for its beautiful animation and emotional storyline about a boy, Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae/Zach Aguilar), who decides to become a Demon Slayer after losing his family to demons. However, the series quickly approaching its ending. Season 4 tackled the Hashira Training arc, which sees the characters receive training from the top-ranking Demon Slayer Corps members to prepare to fight the demon king Muzan Kibutsuji (Toshihiko Seki/Greg Chun). This means there is just one more official arc of the series’ manga left for the show to adapt: the Infinity Castle arc.

You’re either a Ridley Scott fan or you’re not. For me, he’s a gal’s pal and he always is looking out for me and my best interests with his movies. He’s gone and cast many of my favorite actors in Gladiator 2 and I love him for it. News broke in an exclusive from Deadline that Pedro Pascal would be joining the already epic cast of Scott’s follow-up film back in 2023 and I started having war-time flashbacks to the last time Pascal was in a gladiator ring. RIP Oberyn Martell.

Jane Doe is an unidentified corpse inexplicably found at the crime scene of a multiple homicide. She’s got no driver’s license, no ID, seemingly no identity whatsoever. The weirdest part of all? What ARE these things?

Part dog, part ape, part bug, all horrible—the creatures from Arcadian are pure nightmare fuel. But what exactly are they? We don’t know, and there isn’t enough of humanity left to say for sure. Arcadian takes place fifteen years after a global pandemic wiped out the majority of the human race. Human civilization was reduced to ruin, with the few remaining human beings forced to live off of the scraps of a bygone era. As it turns out, human beings are not the only dominant species on Earth anymore. While their origins are never explained, a new species of monster has begun to challenge Homo sapiens for dominance over the globe. Despite their overarching presence in the film, they are never formally given a name. Here’s what we know about them:

Interestingly, the same day I watched the third installment in John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place franchise starring Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and that darling cat, I also happened to watch the highly anticipated Indian sci-fi dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD in theaters. The latter, with its A-list star cast, grand set pieces, and thrilling climax was definitely a collective experience with everyone hooting and applauding in the second half.

Spirited Away: How it started

Sometime in the early ’00s, a little girl named Chihiro is moving with her family to a new home in Japan with her family. While driving through the countryside, Chihiro’s parents discover a spooky little gateway in the woods. Ignoring Chihiro’s totally understandable “this is creepy” protests, Chihiro’s parents soldier on through the gateway and into the abandoned town on the other side. After they explore the derelict spot, they happen upon a food stall with fresh cooked food just sitting there steaming. Who cooked it? Where’s the proprietor? As a matter of fact, where’s anyone? These basic questions don’t seem to bother Chihiro’s one-track-minded parents. Ignorance is bliss, right?
